It is easy to build your own solar panel.
Energy from the limitless resource of the sun is the primary focus of those that develop solar energy products. Our very own sun will live on for over 4 billion years giving us more than enough energy for our lifetime. One of the key reasons that solar panels are becoming more popular is that discounts make it more affordable for those that want to try it out. The big question is how do these solar panels actually operate? The following paragraphs will provide this explanation.
The biggest benefit of using solar power is you won’t need to be reliant on the public electric grid because you’ll be producing your own energy. This means that you may be able to drastically cut your electricity bills, but at the very least you’ll be able to cut them down a bit. You can also earn some cash as in many areas the government will purchase any additional energy you create. But even if this doesn’t happen where you live, you’ll still make big savings from installing solar panels.
The plexiglass is for protection of your cells. To attach the cells to the box, you will need to glue some strips of wood inside the box, also known as substrate, onto which you will glue the solar cells. Just a dot of silicone caulk in the center of the cell will keep the cells steady when the wood expands or shrinks. It’s imperative that you avoid damaging cells by using a single dot of this caulk to allow wood to shift. Once the caulk has set, all you need to do is to drill a hole in the box for the wires but make sure to fill it with caulk after you have pushed the wires through to make sure that no moisture gets in. Then, screw your Plexiglas on and mount it where you want.
Batteries will need to be connected and you may want to solder a diode first. Charge your batteries using your solar panels. To avoid wasting energy make sure that your solar panels are sending power to your batteries and not the other way around. This step can be replaced by an alternative action consisting of the use of a control charger
Because solar panel systems are good for the environment and cost-effective they will most certainly be the future of energy production in the home. So by installing them sooner rather than later you can save more money on your electricity bills.
